Our chairs are built using 100% maple. They are lightweight but extremely strong. Each dowel is oven-dried before assembly for a tight fit. Our seats are woven with 100% cotton tape with a high-density foam filler. The cotton-tape can be cleaned with a damp cloth. We recommend our Mohawk Fabric Guard® or similar coating for heavy use.

Most of our maple is harvested in Maine, cut, dried and turned in a small family-operated dowel mill in Farmington. Other parts come from Vermont. The dowels are tenoned, sanded and receive their final shaping at our home-based shop in Oxford, Maine.

Shaker View Furniture brings its unique style to the chair design while maintaining the integrity of Shaker chair manufacturers of the past. Our finial and slat design is all our own.

We have just one employee, Ralph Tanner, who has been with us since 1999. He and Chuck work on parts, build the chairs, finish, weave, carefully wrap and box each chair.

All prices include shipping anywhere in the Continental United States. If you live in New England or are vacationing in Maine and want to pick up your chairs, deduct 10%.
Add $10 per chair for a Fabric Guard® protective coating.
